The Art & Science of Planting

Every tree we plant follows a meticulous process to ensure its long-term health. Explore the key stages of our work brought to life through animation.

Step 1: Proper Excavation

We dig a hole that is two to three times wider than the root ball but no deeper. This allows roots to spread easily into the surrounding soil, promoting faster establishment and stability.

Step 2: Careful Placement

The tree is gently placed in the center of the hole. We ensure the top of the root ball is level with or slightly above the ground to prevent root rot and other future complications.

Step 3: Backfilling & Amending

We backfill the hole with the original soil, sometimes mixed with organic compost to add nutrients. The soil is gently tamped to remove air pockets without over-compacting.

Step 4: Deep Watering

A thorough, deep watering is crucial immediately after planting. This helps settle the soil around the roots and provides the essential moisture needed for the tree to overcome transplant shock.

Step 5: Mulching & Care

A 2-3 inch layer of mulch is applied around the base, but not touching the trunk. This retains moisture, regulates soil temperature, and suppresses weeds, giving the tree the best start.
